The pool
The rooftop pool is at Hyatt Zilara, Blvd. Kukulcan Km 11.5 in Punta Cancun. It has sea views and a bar at the pool. The catch: no floor, hours or visitor rules are published, and cabanas cost extra.
Our take
Zilara sits in the same Punta Cancun strip as Royalton Chic, but the two read very differently. Royalton states Level 18 and sells a day pass. Zilara publishes neither, so a visitor can't plan around it. What it does say is that the roof has sea views and a bar.
The resort has other pools that are easy to mix up with the roof. An Olympic-size lap pool is not confirmed as the rooftop pool. The beachfront infinity pool, which has a swim-up bar, and the hot tubs are at ground level. Its Google rating is 4.6 from 4035 reviews.
