How we check a rooftop pool
Most lists of rooftop pools don't tell you the one thing you need: whether you can actually swim there.
We start from every hotel that claims a pool on the roof, then check the claim against the hotel's own website and its Google listing. A pool on the 3rd-floor terrace of a 20-floor tower doesn't count, and neither does a hot tub on the roof. Each city page lists the hotels we rejected and why.
For each pool we record who can swim, the floor, heating, the season, the hours and the day-pass price, with the page each fact came from. When a hotel doesn't publish something, we say so instead of guessing.
