Naples swims best from June to August, and the rooftop pools here are a summer plan. Each of the 5 hotels we cover has a rooftop pool, but only Romeo Hotel publishes who can use it: guests only. The other four don't state their access rules.

Our first pick is Romeo Hotel: a 10th-floor infinity pool, a 9th-floor plunge pool, and published hours of 9:00 to 19:00 for guests only. The easiest to plan around is LHP Napoli Palace, which publishes its season: the rooftop pool and whirlpool close in November and reopen in mid-April.

Winter is cool. Average highs are 18.3°C in November, 14.3°C in December and 13.4°C in January, and no hotel on our list publishes a heated pool. If you travel then, plan on a hot tub or spa rather than a swim.

Hotels you might expect here, and why they're not

These hotels come up in Naples searches, but the facts we have show no rooftop pool: they have a rooftop bar, a terrace, a ground-level pool or a spa pool.

  • Grand Hotel Vesuvio. Sources describe a 9th-floor rooftop restaurant and a 10th-floor terrace bar, but none mention a swimming pool.
  • Hotel NH Napoli Panorama. None of the three sources mentions a swimming pool at all, so no rooftop pool can be confirmed. Status set to not-rooftop because no pool is evidenced.
  • UNA Hotels Napoli. None of the sources mention a swimming pool. The hotel's sources describe only a rooftop bar and restaurant with a panoramic terrace, which the rules classify as not-rooftop.
  • Montespina Park Hotel. The hotel's own site describes the pool as ground-level, surrounded by a tiled patio in a park, not on a roof or top-floor terrace. The Google Maps listing only says "Outdoor swimming pool".
  • B&B HOTEL Napoli. The hotel's own site describes a panoramic terrace for guests with Vesuvius views but never mentions a swimming pool. The Google Maps listing gives only the name and address. No pool is stated in any source, so this is not a rooftop pool.
  • Gold Tower Lifestyle Hotel - Napoli. The hotel's rooftop terrace (Terrazza Ramè) is described as a lounge bar and restaurant with panoramic views, with no pool mentioned. The only pool found is an indoor hydromassage pool in the Gold Spa wellness circuit, which is a spa pool, not a rooftop pool.
  • Residence Inn by Marriott Naples North. Sources describe an outdoor pool in a courtyard (Innenhof) with no roof mention. The Google Maps listing is an Italian property (Gricignano di Aversa) and the resortpass snippet doesn't name this hotel, so both were excluded.
  • Eurostars Hotel Excelsior. Neither source mentions a swimming pool at this hotel. The hotel's site describes a sea-view terrace, but no pool is stated, so it cannot be confirmed as a rooftop pool.
