Choose this for the pool's story as much as the swim. Gio Ponti designed a tenth-floor rooftop pool filled with seawater, walled on three sides, facing the Gulf of Naples. Access isn't published.
The pool
The pool is on the tenth floor, on the roof terrace of the hotel on Via Partenope. It is fed with seawater pumped up to the roof and walled on three sides. Views take in the Sorrento peninsula, the Gulf of Naples and Pizzofalcone hill.
Our take
Royal Continental and Romeo both put a pool on the 10th floor. Romeo states who can swim and when. Here you plan with less certainty, since access, hours and season are all unpublished.
The history is on the page: Ponti planned the pool for the sixth floor before it moved to the tenth, and its design appeared on the cover of Domus issue 291 in 1954. The ninth- and tenth-floor private executive terraces are not the pool. Don't book one expecting to swim.

Getting in
Who can swim in the rooftop pool isn't published. No day pass or bar-access route is listed, so ask before you plan around it.

Tips
- Don't book a private executive terrace for the pool. Those 30 sq m terraces on the ninth and tenth floors are separate.
- Get pool hours and season from the hotel when you book. Naples' best three months to swim are June to August.
Before you go. Confirm the pool is available to you on your dates. Access rules, hours and heating aren't published.
