When to swim on a Jakarta rooftop

August to October is the best stretch for a rooftop swim in Jakarta. Warmth carries on after that, with average highs of 32.8°C in November, 32 in December and 31 in January. None of the ten hotels publishes a heated pool, so winter closures aren't a listed issue. Confirm hours before you go.

Event dates are worth checking before you book. Jakarta Deathfest is on November 14, 2026, the Jakarta Venture Capital World Summit on March 2, 2027, and The 17th Music Gallery runs in May 2027 (dates not given). Java Jazz Festival is estimated for May 28 to 30, 2027, and the Jakarta Surface Show is at the Jakarta International Expo on 3 to 5 November 2027.

Where to stay: Jakarta's rooftop pools by area

Menteng

Menteng is a central part of Jakarta with cafés and museums, and it suits first-time visitors. Hotel Indonesia Kempinski, Morrissey Hotel and The Hermitage are listed here.

Setiabudi

Setiabudi is a neighborhood of larger hotels. Manhattan Hotel and The H Tower Rasuna Suites, both in the Kuningan area, are on our list.

Cheaper ways to swim in Jakarta

If you only want to swim, Jakarta has public options that are likely cheaper than a hotel day pass: Cilandak Sport Center, Gelanggang Renang in East Jakarta and the Atlantis Water Adventure water park in Ancol. No adult admission price is listed for any of them here, so check at the gate.

  • Cilandak Sport Center swimming pool. Listed in a Lifestyle article on Jakarta swimming pools. The stated figure is a starting price, not labelled as an adult admission price.
  • Gelanggang Renang East Jakarta (Gelanggang swimming pool, East Jakarta). A public pool in East Jakarta. The source describes a one-off fee waiver for city anniversary days in June 2026, which has already passed as of today.
  • Atlantis Water Adventure (Ancol, North Jakarta). A water park in Ancol, North Jakarta. The source gives no admission price for it.

Hotels you might expect here, and why they're not

Two hotels people often expect to find here, ASHLEY NEWAIR Menteng and Sawana Suites, aren't on the list because their pools are described as indoor, semi-indoor or ground-level rather than on the roof.

  • ASHLEY NEWAIR Menteng. Both sources describe the pool as indoor or semi-indoor. Neither says it is on the roof or a top-floor terrace, so it cannot be confirmed as rooftop.
  • Sawana Suites. No source places the pool on the roof or a top floor. Sources describe an indoor pool (hoteljakarta.org, hotels.com) and an outdoor pool with direct room access (Lemon8), so the pool sounds ground-level. The sources conflict on indoor versus outdoor, and no hotel-owned page was available.
