Panama City is hot through the winter, with average highs of 31.1°C in November and 32.2°C in January, and February to April are the best three months to swim. Each of the 8 hotels we list has a rooftop pool. Gran Evenia is the only one that sells day passes, and the other seven publish no access rules.

Our first pick is Gran Evenia, where non-guests can swim Monday to Friday, 8am to 8pm, for $50 per adult or $25 per child aged 6 to 11. If you want a published floor, W Panama puts its WET Deck and pool bar on the 15th floor. Check access with W before you build a plan around it.

When to swim on a Panama City rooftop

February to April are the best three months for a rooftop swim in Panama City. Highs are already 31.1°C in November, 31.7°C in December and 32.2°C in January, so the pools are warm enough for the whole dry stretch. Only AC Hotel is marked as heated among the hotels we list, and it also has a guest hot tub and jacuzzi. No hotel here publishes a winter closure.

Events can tighten rooms. The listings give BBQ Fest Panama at Amador Causeway on Saturday, January 23, and Rock The Boat Panama on Saturday, March 6. Panama Crossroads Festival is set for late January 2027, but its source gives two different date ranges (29-31 and 28-30), so check before booking.

Average daily highs: November 31°C (88°F), December 32°C (89°F), January 32°C (90°F). The warmest stretch for swimming is Feb–Apr.

Where to stay: Panama City's rooftop pools by area

Casco Viejo

Casco Viejo is the colonial historic district on the peninsula's tip, with cobblestone streets and plazas, and most things are walkable. The cathedral, the sea wall and a dense cluster of restaurants are close. Selina Casco Viejo is the listed hotel here.

Hotels you might expect here, and why they're not

Several hotels people expect to find here left our list because none of the sources puts a pool on the roof: American Trade Hotel & Hall, The Bristol Hotel, Las Clementinas, Tántalo Hotel & Roofbar and Shores of Panama.

  • American Trade Hotel & Hall. No source mentions a swimming pool. The hotel's own event page describes a rooftop outdoor venue without any pool, so it is classed not-rooftop.
  • The Bristol Hotel. The only pool mentioned is in the spa, which the hotel's structured data places on the 25th floor. No source says the pool is on the roof or top floor. The garden terrace is described without a pool.
  • Las Clementinas. No source mentions a swimming pool. The hotel's own site describes an "exclusive rooftop" with views, but no pool, so it does not qualify as a rooftop pool.
  • Tántalo Hotel & Roofbar. The sources describe a rooftop bar at Tántalo, but none mention a swimming pool on the roof or anywhere else. Under the rules, a rooftop bar without a pool is not-rooftop.
  • Shores of Panama. The sources describe The Beach House (Naos Island, Amador Causeway), not "Shores of Panama", so the name match is unconfirmed. They mention only an outdoor pool, with no roof or top-floor location, so it is not a rooftop pool.

Panama City rooftop pools: questions people ask

Which Panama City hotels let non-guests use the rooftop pool?

One: Gran Evenia sells day passes, Monday to Friday, 8am to 8pm, at $50 per adult and $25 per child aged 6 to 11. The other seven hotels on our list don't publish visitor access, so ask before you go.

Are any Panama City rooftop pools heated?

Yes, one. AC Hotel Panama City is the only hotel we list as heated, and it also has a guest hot tub and jacuzzi. Panama City highs stay above 31°C from November to January, so heat matters less here than in cooler cities.

Which hotel has the highest rooftop pool in Panama City?

W Panama, on the 15th floor. No other hotel here publishes its pool floor, and its WET Deck has a bar beside the pool.

What is the best time of year for a rooftop pool in Panama City?

February to April are the best three months. Average highs are already 31.1°C in November, 31.7°C in December and 32.2°C in January.

Are Panama City rooftop pools family-friendly?

Yes, in places. Gran Evenia sets a child day-pass price of $25 for ages 6 to 11, and Le Méridien Panama welcomes children of all ages, though it leans toward couples. Most other hotels publish no child rules.

How can I swim at a Panama City rooftop pool for the least money?

The only published price is Gran Evenia's $50 weekday day pass per adult. Other hotels don't publish a day-pass price, so staying is the sure way into their pools.
