Book The Wave Resort for a heated pool high above Broadbeach, as long as guests-only access suits you. Level 34 is the only pool floor published on our list.
The pool
The sky pool and spa sit on the Level 34 rooftop of a Broadbeach hotel on Surf Parade. Skyline views run over Broadbeach, and the hotel describes panoramic ocean views. Only hotel guests can use it.
Our take
Esprit Holidays in Coolangatta has the longer pool at 25 metres, but The Wave Resort publishes its floor and states that its water is heated all year. That matters in winter, when the Gold Coast's best swimming months (January to March) are well behind you.
The downside is the deposit and the door. Check-in comes with a $200.00 card pre-authorisation, and non-guests have no day pass to buy. If you only want a swim, the Palm Beach Aquatic Centre charges $7.60 for adults.
Good to know
- Level 34 rooftop, the only floor published on our list
- Heated year-round
- Loungers and BBQs on the roof are free for guests
- Second infinity pool on Level 4 with a shallow area for children
The catches
- Guests only, with no day pass listed
- $200.00 card hold taken at check-in
Best forGuests after a heated roof pool and spa they can use in any month.
Skip it ifYou'd rather swim without paying for a room.
Getting in
Only hotel guests can use the Level 34 sky pool and spa. No day pass is listed, and no pass seller lists the hotel.
The Level 34 barbecue and entertainment area is guest-only too. The Level 4 infinity pool has a shallow area for young children, so it suits families better. Age rules for the sky pool aren't published.
Tips
- Use the Level 4 infinity pool for young children, as it has a shallow area.
- Have a card ready for the $200.00 pre-authorisation at check-in.
Before you go. Check that your room rate includes pool access and budget for the $200.00 card hold on arrival.
