Book here, or buy a pass, if you want to swim without checking in. Capsis Astoria is the one hotel on our list that sells day passes, and it publishes its floor: the 7th.
The pool
A 4-star hotel on Plateia Eleftherias, with its pool on the 7th floor. Swimming is permitted until the afternoon hours, so it is a morning or early-afternoon pool. The hotel doesn't publish the day pass price or whether the water is heated.
Our take
Capsis Astoria is the easiest way onto a Heraklion roof for a non-guest. Ethereal White and The Pal publish no access rules, and Aquila Atlantis is guests only. Here you buy a pass on the hotel's own site.
The catch is timing and noise. The afternoon cutoff means a late-day swim won't work, and top-floor rooms can be disturbed by the hotel's own bar in summer. Ask for a lower floor if you want to sleep early.

Best forTravelers who want a rooftop swim in Heraklion without booking a room.
Skip it ifYou want an evening swim, since swimming stops in the afternoon hours.
Getting in

Age rules for the pool aren't published.
Tips
- Ask the hotel for the day pass price, then swim in the morning or early afternoon. Swimming is permitted only until the afternoon hours.
- If you stay in summer, ask for a room below the top floor to avoid bar noise.
Before you go. Ask the hotel for the day pass price and dates before you plan around it. The best swimming months here are Jul to Sep, and the hotel doesn't publish its closing dates.
