The pool
JW Marriott Houston by The Galleria, on the Westside, has a heated outdoor rooftop pool with Houston skyline views. The hotel doesn't publish a floor. Cabanas are reservable, but the hotel doesn't publish their price.
Our take
JW Marriott is one of four hotels on our list that publish a heated pool, which matters when December highs average 18.5°C. Marriott Marquis is $5 cheaper but doesn't say whether it is heated.
The catch is the missing floor and cabana price. Only two cabanas exist, and each comes with Wi-Fi, cold water bottles and a fruit platter, so they will go first on busy summer days.
