Book here for a rooftop deck with a bar and cabanas that seat up to six. Non-guests can swim on weekdays with a $30 ResortPass.

The pool

The Fontaine's West Plaza roof holds the pool deck, and the Nine Zero One lounge sits on the 7th floor. The hotel calls its view one of the best within Kansas City. The catch is the season: the deck is summer only and is closed now.

Our take

Our pick if you're coming with a crowd. A cabana holds up to six, with shaded seating, poolside service, and food and cocktails from Nine Zero One. No other hotel on our list sells a private cabana.

The $30 day pass costs $10 more than the Sheraton's, and weekdays are the only days it works. Heating and pool floor are missing from the hotel's pages. Cabanas need advance reservations, so don't turn up on a Saturday hoping for one.

Good to know

  • $30 per adult weekday day pass on ResortPass
  • Cabanas seat up to 6, with poolside service
  • Nine Zero One bar on the 7th floor

The catches

Best forParties of up to six who want a reserved cabana, food and cocktails on the roof.

Skip it ifYou need a weekend pass, or a swim outside the summer season.

Getting in

Hotel guests can use the pool daily from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM. Non-guests can buy a weekday ResortPass day pass, from $30 per adult.

Cabanas are separate and need an advance reservation. Age rules for the pool aren't published.

Day pass. From $30 for an adult day pass on resortpass.com, checked November 1, 2026. Prices change by day and season. See passes for The Fontaine.

Tips

  • Buy the ResortPass for a weekday between June and August, the best swim months in Kansas City.
  • Reserve a cabana ahead and split it across up to six people to cover the food and cocktails.

Before you go. Confirm the deck has reopened before buying a pass. The hotel lists it as closed right now.
