The pool
The pool is an outdoor rooftop deck at the W in The Gulch. It is heated, with two-person daybeds, canopied daybeds and cabanas. A poolside bar and DJ sets set the pace. No floor number is published, and the deck is adults only.
Our take
W is the dressier, louder choice on our list. Hyatt Centric Downtown is also adults only, but its day pass costs $40, half of W's $80. You pay the difference for the cabanas, the DJ sets and a larger deck.
The catch is the rulebook. Entry is 21+, jeans, basketball shorts and boots are banned, and the code calls for smart casual wear, meaning upscale swimwear or cover-ups. Outside food and drink can get you refused at the door, so eat poolside, where food is served daily 11am to 5pm.

Getting in
Hotel guests swim, and day-pass holders can join them. Passes are sold on ResortPass from $80 per adult, and everyone must be 21 or older.
