The pool
The open-air pool is on the roof of the Well & Being Spa in North Scottsdale. It has two 25-meter lap lanes, plush day beds, floating bean bags and an oversized hammock. Access is limited to spa guests.
Our take
Fairmont is the lap-swimming pick on our list, and the only pool here that publishes its lane count. Omni Montelucia is the other spa-linked rooftop, but it sells limited passes to outsiders. Fairmont doesn't list a pass for non-guests.
The downside is the calendar. Friday to Sunday needs a spa appointment, so a no-treatment visit only works Monday to Thursday, for registered hotel guests who pay the spa fee.
