Stay here if a 5-star room at Balluta Bay is the plan and the pool is a bonus. Marriott's page says the pools are for hotel guests, so there's no route in without a booking.
The pool
The hotel is a 5-star resort at 39 Main Street, Balluta Bay, in St Julian's. Marriott's page limits its pools to hotel guests. The spa has a Jacuzzi, sauna, steam room, fitness centre and squash court.
Our take
Marriott shares its guests-only rule with Hyatt Regency Malta and Verdi Gzira Promenade. For a swim without a room, Grands Suites is the alternative on our list.
The catch is the address. The hotel's mailing address is in St Julian's at Balluta Bay, so it's on the edge of Sliema rather than in the middle of it. The hotel's own pool details are thin, so ask for hours and season before you book.
Good to know
- 5-star hotel with Jacuzzi, sauna and steam room
- Spa includes a fitness centre and squash court
The catches
- Pools are for hotel guests only
- Address is in St Julian's, not central Sliema
