Book here for a pool with a posted schedule: open daily 06:30 to 21:00, 15m long, open-air on the roof, with views of Taipei's East District. It is guests only, so you need a room to swim.

The pool

The pool is an open-air rooftop pool in Da'an District, 15m long, 2.7m wide and 125cm deep. It looks over Taipei's East District. The hotel doesn't publish the floor, and only guests can use it.

Our take

Hotel Proverbs is the one hotel on our list that tells you the pool's size, depth and hours, which is why it sits first. Every other pool here leaves access or hours unpublished. If you want to know before you book what you are getting, this is the safer call.

The catch is the shape. At 2.7m wide it is a narrow strip, better for a few lengths or a cool-down than for a group. Food and drinks are banned in the pool, and the floor and water heating go unlisted by the hotel.

Good to know

  • 15m long, 125cm deep, open-air on the roof
  • Open daily 06:30 to 21:00
  • Views of Taipei's East District

The catches

  • Only 2.7m wide, so it suits a few swimmers
  • Guests only, with no day pass listed
  • Floor and heating aren't published

Best forGuests who want a clear, early-to-evening swim window on the roof.

Skip it ifYou won't hold a room, since the pool is for guests only and no day pass is listed.

Getting in

A room key is what gets you to the pool. The hotel lists no day pass for outside visitors.

The EAST END bar is on the 3rd floor, not the roof, and welcomes walk-ins. It won't get you to the pool. Baby cots, baby bathtubs and bottle sterilizers are available on request in limited quantities, arranged at booking. Age rules for the pool aren't published.

Tips

  • Swim at 06:30 when it opens, or near 21:00, since a 2.7m-wide pool feels full with a few people.
  • Leave snacks and drinks in the room. Food and drink aren't allowed in the pool.

Before you go. Ask whether the water is heated if you plan to swim between November and January, when highs run from 24.8°C down to 19.4°C. The hotel doesn't publish it.
