Season
Hours differ by season: summer May to September, winter October to…

Our pick for space and late hours: an adults-only terrace of more than 1,200 m2, open to guests over 16 from 10am to midnight, May to September.

The pool

Sky & Sea is the rooftop pool and terrace at Meliá Costa del Sol, with panoramic Mediterranean views and a rooftop bar-restaurant. The terrace covers more than 1,200 m2 with sunbeds and Bali beds. The catch: it is for hotel guests aged over 16 only, and winter hours stop at 6pm.

Our take

Meliá is the only hotel on our Torremolinos list that publishes both a terrace size and hours for each season. That makes it the easiest rooftop to plan around, and the hours run later than anywhere else we list.

The downside is access and age. Non-guests can't swim, and nobody under 16 can. Heating isn't published, so swims from November to April depend on the weather: average highs fall from 20.5°C in November to 17.7°C in January.

Good to know

  • 1,200 m2 terrace with sunbeds and Bali beds
  • Open 10am to midnight in summer
  • Rooftop bar-restaurant serves snacks, drinks and cocktails
  • Rooms from EUR 111

The catches

  • Closes at 6pm from October to April
  • Heating isn't published by the hotel

Best forAdult travelers who want a big sea-view terrace with a bar, from May to September.

Skip it ifYou travel with under-16s or need a day pass rather than a room.

Getting in

Only hotel guests aged over 16 can use the Sky & Sea pool. The hotel lists no day pass for the rooftop.

Guests of The Level have a separate private rooftop terrace with a pool, reached from The Level Lounge. Two more pools on the hotel's terraces are also for guests over 16.

Tips

  • Visit May to September if you want the pool until midnight. From October to April it closes at 6pm.
  • The rooftop hosts yoga, concerts and DJ sessions, so check the events calendar before you book a quiet stay.

Before you go. Check the season dates: summer hours run May to September, winter hours October to April. For a winter stay, email the hotel about heating, which it doesn't list.
