The pool
An outdoor pool sits at roof terrace level, with loungers and umbrellas and views of Santa Barbara castle in the summer months. The rooftop also has a jacuzzi, sauna and solarium. The hotel says only "summer season" for opening, with no dates.
Our take
Apartament, also on our list, gives exact dates for its rooftop pool. NH doesn't, so you'll need to ask before planning a June or September swim. NH makes up for it with extras: a jacuzzi, a sauna and a solarium on the same rooftop.
La Vuit, the seasonal rooftop dining space, runs daily through August and on Fridays and Saturdays in July. That is the real downside for a July visit: midweek evenings have no rooftop bar listed.
