The pool
The saltwater pool is on the 5th-floor rooftop deck of the Seaholm District hotel, 600 W 2nd St. It has panoramic downtown skyline views and La Piscina restaurant and bar on the deck. The pool is open daily 8am to 10pm.
Our take
Austin Proper is stricter than the day-pass hotels. Fairmont Austin sells passes from $50, and Proper sells none. Guests, plus weekday Proper Club members, are the only swimmers.
The catch is a daily Destination Amenity Fee of $45 plus tax, which includes pool access. Lounge chairs are first come, first served, and Proper Sounds DJ nights run Thursday to Saturday evenings in season. If you want quiet, avoid those nights.
