The pool
Hyatt Regency Houston/Galleria, on the Westside, has an outdoor rooftop pool with downtown skyline views and a rooftop bar next to it. Valet parking costs $25 cash or $30 by card, and the hotel doesn't publish a floor.
Our take
Hyatt Regency matches JW Marriott's $25 price. JW Marriott publishes heating and has reservable cabanas, while this one puts its weight on the bar, Ranch Water, beside the water.
The downside is parking. Valet costs $25 cash or $30 by card, which doubles the cost of a day-pass visit. Heating isn't published, so we'd pick it for June to August.
