Stay at the Splendid for a pool and a jacuzzi on the same 8th-floor roof, free for guests. It is open April to October, a longer season than Aston La Scala's.
The pool
The 8th-floor rooftop terrace at 50 Bd Victor Hugo holds a pool and a jacuzzi. Sun loungers face panoramic views of Nice's rooftops, the Mediterranean and the hills. Bonobo's Bar and a restaurant are up there too, and the season runs April to October, weather permitting.
Our take
Splendid and Aston La Scala are the two guests-only pools on our list. Splendid opens two months earlier and later than Aston's June to September window, and adds a jacuzzi. Hours and heating aren't published, which Aston does state.
The downside is that gap. You can't plan a swim time, and without a published heating status, April and October water may be cool. Nice averages 17°C highs in November, so late-season stays are a gamble.
