Choose this if you want lap swimming with no kids around. The pool sits on the Well & Being Spa roof, has two 25-meter lanes and admits only guests 18 and older. Access runs through the spa, so plan that first.

The pool

North Scottsdale's adults-only pool sits on top of the Well & Being Spa. It is open-air, with two 25-meter lap lanes, day beds, floating bean bags and an oversized hammock. The hotel doesn't publish a floor, and entry depends on spa access.

Our take

Omni Montelucia's Joya terrace is the other spa-gated roof pool in Scottsdale on our list, but its facts point to cabanas and views. Here the draw is the two 25-meter lanes, and we'd book this one for anyone who wants to swim lengths.

The catch is the gate. From Monday to Thursday, staying guests pay a daily spa fee ($75), and Friday to Sunday spa access needs a booked appointment. The ResortPass page shows no price, so ask the hotel before you plan a spontaneous visit.

Getting in

Entry runs through the spa. Staying guests can swim Monday to Thursday by paying the daily spa access fee, listed as a $75 spa day pass for hotel guests only. From Friday to Sunday, spa access requires booked appointments.

A ResortPass day pass page exists (fairmont-scottsdale-princess.resortpass.co), but it shows no price. Guests must be 18 or older, and swimsuits are required in all water areas.

Tips

  • Stay Monday to Thursday if you want the pool without booking a treatment, since the $75 spa day pass applies those days.
  • For a weekend swim, book a spa appointment before you arrive.

Before you go. Ask the hotel whether a ResortPass day pass gets you onto the roof pool, because the hotel's own rules name spa guests only.
