Choose the Fasano for a published floor and a beachfront Ipanema address, provided you will book a room. The 8th-floor pool is reserved for hotel guests.
The pool
Av. Vieira Souto 80, on Ipanema's seafront, is the address of the Fasano, whose 8th-floor pool is for hotel guests. No day pass is listed. Heating isn't published.
Our take
Fasano is one of only two hotels on our list that publish a pool floor. The other is Hilton Barra, which goes one floor higher at the 9th but sits in Barra Olímpica, away from the beach districts. In Ipanema, Sol Ipanema is also guests only and says its pool is heated, which Fasano doesn't.
The catch is the room. A 5-star seafront stay costs more than the day-pass route at the JW Marriott, and no rate or day pass is published. If swimming is the main goal, weigh that first.
