The pool
Canopy by Hilton Tempe Downtown has an outdoor pool on its roof, with a terrace bar called Alibi. The address is 108 E University Dr, Tempe. Floor, heating and hours aren't published.
Our take
Canopy is the Tempe option on our list. Tempe Mission Palms and The Westin Tempe sit in the same city and also don't publish their access rules, so it is the one to check for atmosphere: fire pit and cabanas.
Access is the downside. Non-guest swimming, a day-pass price and hours are all unpublished. Assume it is for guests until you hear otherwise.
