Choose this for lap swimming on a roof. Access is spa guests only, the age limit is 18 and up, and the two lanes are 25 meters each. It is the only guests-only pool on our list.
The pool
Fairmont Scottsdale Princess has an open-air pool on the roof of its Well & Being Spa in North Scottsdale. It has two 25-meter lap lanes, day beds, floating bean bags and an oversized hammock. No floor is published.
Our take
The lap lanes set this apart. Omni Montelucia is the other spa-roof pool on our list, but it sells limited non-guest passes. Fairmont doesn't, so you need a spa booking.
The catch is the calendar. Hotel guests without a treatment can buy a $75 spa day pass Monday through Thursday only. From Friday to Sunday, spa access requires appointments.
