The pool
The Joya Terrace pool is on the Joya Spa rooftop terrace at Omni Montelucia in La Posada. It looks out over the resort and Camelback Mountain. The catch is access: it is built around spa guests, and passes for everyone else are limited.
Our take
Omni Montelucia is the only hotel on our list where a spa membership comes with the rooftop pool, plus whirlpools, saunas and steam rooms. Fairmont Scottsdale Princess also ties its roof pool to the spa, but Fairmont is adults-only and publishes a $75 spa day pass for hotel guests. Omni publishes no pass price.
The downside is the rooftop restaurant. Joya Terrace serves cocktails, but it is reserved for Joya Spa guests, so a pass holder shouldn't count on a drink up there. Reserve by phone before you plan a day around it.
