- Open and heated all year round
Choose this for a winter or shoulder-season trip: the open-air pool on the 7th floor is heated and open all year, 9am to 6pm. It's the only pool on our list that publishes its floor.
The pool
The pool is open-air and heated, on the 7th floor, with views over the old town, the castle and the harbour. The Cuppola rooftop gastrobar sits beside it. Swimming ends at 6pm, and who can swim isn't published.
Our take
Hotel DDC is the better bet than Odyssey Rooms, also on Carrer Gravina, if you travel outside summer. Odyssey publishes no heating or floor. DDC states both, and winter highs of 17.2 to 20.5°C in Alicante make a heated pool a real advantage between November and January.
The downside is timing and access. Swimming ends at 6pm, while the Cuppola bar runs 1pm to midnight only from April to October. Non-guests get free entry to the bar, but the hotel says nothing equivalent about the pool.

Getting in
Pool access rules aren't published, and no day pass is listed. The Cuppola gastrobar beside the pool welcomes non-guests, with free entry and no need to dine. Whether that covers swimming isn't stated.
Pool towels are handed out at reception.
Tips
- Swim before 6pm. From April to October the Cuppola bar runs 1pm to midnight, so a swim and a sunset drink fit one visit.
- Call 965 21 07 00 to book a Cuppola table.
Before you go. Call the hotel before you go to check if outside guests may swim, since only the bar's open-door policy is published.
