Pick this for a priced day pass: MX$700, no overnight stay, sold on hivecancun.com. The rooftop minipools belong to select Master Suites, so they are for staying guests only.
The pool
Hive Cancun by G Hotels is on Av Huayacán, Supermanzana 336. The rooftop pools are private minipools on the terraces of select Master Suites, with open city views. Day-pass visitors don't get those: the hotel's infinity pool beside the jacuzzi has no stated roof location.
Our take
Hive is a middle route between Excellence Playa Mujeres and the day-pass hotels. Like Excellence, it puts a pool on a suite terrace. Unlike Excellence, it sells a day pass priced at MX$700. Four Points Cancun Centro sells one too but shows no price.
The downside is what the pass covers. It is described as covering facilities and premium services, but the rooftop minipool is a guests-only feature of select suites. Floor, hours and heating aren't published. Its Google rating is 3.9 from 531 reviews.

Tips
- Book a King Master Suite if the rooftop minipool is the point of your stay.
- Buy the MX$700 pass on hivecancun.com and ask what it covers before you pay.
Before you go. Ask whether the day pass includes the infinity pool, since the hotel doesn't say that pool is on the roof.
