Luna suits a winter stay when you're sleeping at the hotel. The pool is guests only and unheated, and winter hours run 10:00 to 23:00, the latest closing on our list.

The pool

This Centro hotel has an outdoor pool on its rooftop terrace (azotea), beside a sun terrace of loungers and parasols. The solarium looks toward the Sierra Nevada. The water is unheated, and the hotel doesn't publish its floor.

Our take

Luna is one of two guests-only pools on our list, and the only one that publishes year-round hours. Room Mate Leo is the other all-year option, and it heats its water. Luna doesn't.

That matters in Granada's cold months. Average highs are 13.1°C in December and 12.6°C in January, so an unheated rooftop pool will be cold. Come for the evening hours and the solarium, and pick Room Mate Leo if you want to swim in comfort in January.

Tips

  • Winter hours for guests run 10:00 to 23:00, so an evening swim after sightseeing works.
  • Visiting from June to August, the best three months to swim, gives you the warmest air around an unheated pool.

Before you go. Check with the hotel whether the water temperature suits you if you travel between November and February, since the pool is unheated.
