Our take
Anatole is the other guests-only pool in Hoan Kiem, after Meritel, and it has the better named landmarks: the cathedral, the lake and the Old Quarter rooftops. The infinity pool opened in 2020. Grand Hotel du Lac, on the same street, has a rooftop pool but doesn't state its access rules.
The downside is that you need a room to swim. The hotel publishes no pool hours or floor, so confirm hours when you book. Tipsy Rooftop Bar is adjacent to the pool, but the hotel doesn't say that bar customers can swim.
